Alex is a highly skilled and compassionate physiotherapist, graduating with First Class Honours and later earning an MSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine with Distinction. He has 15 years of experience in strength and conditioning, is a Level 4 Personal Trainer, a qualified sports nutritionist and is currently pursuing the FIFA Sports Medicine Diploma.
Having started his career in the NHS where he gained experience across musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and neurological care, he then moved further into the world of elite sport and private practice. During this time he worked with a wide variety of elite athletes from professional footballers, rugby players and basketball players, to international level strongmen, world champion kickboxers and British superbike riders.
Throughout his time in the North East he has also gained extensive experience of working with a number of high-profile clubs including Newcastle Thunder, Tynedale RFC, North Tyneside Barbells and the i2i International Soccer Academy. Alex’s primary role however has been working as part of the medical team for the Newcastle Eagles, the most successful British Basketball team of all-time, and is currently medical lead for their elite U19 academy program. He also works both domestically and internationally with England Basketball, particularly with the England Talent Pathway, and was selected as part of the multidisciplinary field-of-play trauma team at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games overseeing the rugby 7’s, judo and wrestling events.
On a more personal level, as former national judo champion, county hockey player and former British Northern Universities 60m sprint gold medallist himself, he brings a unique blend of personal elite sporting experience and clinical expertise to help individuals of all levels recover from injury and optimise their performance.
