Great question!
The simple answer is that we actively encourage and integrate progressive strength training into your recovery, helping you return to not just your previous level of function, but to optimal performance. It’s a proactive and results-driven approach that looks to build strength for life.
All of the physiotherapists at The Gym Physio at the very least have a bachelors degree in Physiotherapy and are licensed and registered with both The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
They also hold Master's Degrees in Sports & Exercise Medicine, are qualified Level 3/4 Personal Trainers and have complete regular additional training in manual therapy, exercise prescription and injury management as part of their ongoing professional development.
During your first appointment at The Gym Physio, your physiotherapist will conduct a thorough subjective and objective assessment to determine the best course of treatment. This will usually include a series of questions about your symptoms, a physical examination and a detailed discussion about your personal goals.
Yes, we offer online video assessments and follow-ups if you're unable to attend in person.
Absolutely not.
Whilst we have experience in working with elite athletes, we regularly work with individuals of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and abilities from 12-99 years old (not had a centenarian yet!).
Absolutely.
Gym-based rehab doesn’t mean you have to be a gym-goer. We use gym equipment because it's versatile and effective, not because you need to “train like an athlete.” Everything is always tailored to your level, even if you’re starting from scratch.
Whilst our clinic is based within a public gym, all physiotherapy assessments take place out of our private room equipped with everything we need. It’s a supportive, quiet and welcoming environment — no pressure, no judgment. We also have access to a private 1-2-1 gym area should we need more space for more functional assessments or rehab exercises.
No.
Your rehab will always be collaborative. We’ll encourage and support you, but we always respect your pace, comfort level and preferences. You’re in total control of your journey.
